Item Details: This Brazilian hammock is crafted from cotton by the talented Hammock Artisans of Ceará. Hand-crocheted floral fringes and sturdy eucalyptus spreader bars are included for added comfort. Please note that the hand-crocheted side panels may vary slightly in pattern from the image shown, but the overall style and color will remain consistent. This hammock is hand wash only, hanging accessories are not included, and it can hold up to 300 lbs. It is not weather resistant.

About the Artist: Antonio Jose, from the Hammock Artisans of Ceará, has been creating hammocks for over two decades. His experience has enabled him to provide employment to over 100 women in the area. The main body of the hammock is woven on a loom, and then distributed among groups of women to complete the finishing touches. These women often work from home to balance their work and caring for their children. Many have passed down their techniques to their daughters and granddaughters, ensuring that the tradition of hammock-making is preserved.
