Long before the Spanish arrived on the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to sleep and rest in hammocks, considering them a loving embrace of a mother due to the comfortable way the body is held and swung within its cradle. The Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock, which they view as a work of art.

This hammock is incredibly comfortable, easy to maintain, and can be stored almost anywhere. It packs easily for travel to the beach or lake. Extender ropes (measuring 1 meter), hammock hooks ("S" hooks), and step-by-step instructions are included for easy installation.

The hammock is made from a single layer of woven nylon and does not have spreader bars, allowing it to hug the body. It is recommended to use a stand of around 10 feet in size if desired. Please note that since each hammock is woven individually by hand, measurements may vary by up to 10 centimeters, and there may be slight color variations from one hammock to another.

The hammock's dimensions are 78" L x 78" W, with a total length of 158". It is 100% nylon and can hold up to 450 lbs. The "S" hooks and extender ropes, as well as hanging instructions, are included.
